Dear Subscriber:

The list of persons requesting the newsletter is growing faster
than we ever expected. In less than 4 weeks, we've had over 300
people subscribe! Thanks for your interest in our village. Also,
thanks to all of you who wrote with feedback to our first letter.
Keep those ideas and suggestions coming!

The warm weather months in Cloudcroft are considered our peak
season for tourism and I have noticed some cleaning up and
fixing up around the village. To our visitors: We're ready
when you are! This season, bring a friend and let them share
the gas!

LOOKING AT THE WEATHER
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what you would call it. It was a little like snow and a
little like sleet. Call it "sneet". Whatever it was, it fell
all day Saturday the first of April in the Sacramento Mountains
(mainly in Cloudcroft and the upper elevations). It did not
contain a lot of moisture but it helped to elevate an otherwise
precariously dry forest condition. The Forest Service has their
fire hazard signs on the highways set at "very high" this week.
That is just one step below "extreme" which is the highest level.
No camping restrictions have been posted on public lands.

VILLAGE POLITICS
-----------------------------------------------------------------
There is a new Chamber of Commerce Director in the village. Ron
Gilmore was selected to replace Randy Micheal who had served as
Director for the past two years. Gilmore's background is in
public relations and publication writing and design.

INSIDE THE SHOP -- SILVER SPRINGS RV CAMPGROUND
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Silver Springs RV Campground and Trout Pond is one of those
Cloudcroft area locations that is popular with locals and
visitors alike. Full service hook-ups are available for just
about every size RV. Silver Springs also features a club house
complete with a fully equipped kitchen for the use of their RV
customers. Fish for rainbow trout in Silver Springs' trout pond.
Fresh trout is so delicious and it gets no fresher than right out
of the water! Open now through the 30th of October. Their new
Web Site is:

CLOUDCROFT ONLINE SPOTLIGHT -- THE MOUNTAIN MONTHLY
-----------------------------------------------------------------
When Gary and Gloria Wood moved to Cloudcroft, their specialty
was retail merchandising, but the village needed a newspaper so
they started one! The Mountain Monthly publishes the first of
every month and features news of events and people all over the
Sacramento Mountain area. In operation for over 10 years, The
Mountain Monthly is Cloudcroft's eyes and ears for villagers and
visitors.
